Digitization
LEANWI and Digitization of Historic Documents
LEANWI and South Central Library System provide equipment for hosting backup and storage for digital archives of materials and metadata for public libraries in any participating Wisconsin public library system. The purpose is to provide proper storage of digitized materials. This project is in partnership with Recollection Wisconsin and managed through the Wisconsin Public Library Consortium (WPLC) Digital Archives Backup Collaboration Group (https://www.wplc.info/digitalarchives).

Digital Readiness Toolkit
Recollection Wisconsin’s new Digital Readiness Toolkit is now available! This revised and expanded set of tools, guidelines, examples, templates, and other resources is a complete guide to creating and tending a digital collection.
The Toolkit was developed specifically to meet the needs of small cultural heritage organizations and is freely available for anyone to use. Every stage of the Toolkit’s development, from planning to design to review to testing, was driven by community input.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this process, including beta testers at Carthage College, the Judge Eghart House (Port Washington), The Highground Veterans Memorial Park (Neillsville), and the Sister Bay Liberty Grove Fire Department Oral History Project.
